Jenny Caroline Mendez Harris of Denver, Colorado was born to the late Emilio & Adella Rivera Mendez. Jenny was the fifth child of nine children. She attended school in the Denver area and was a graduate of West High School in 1957.

Jenny joined in holy matrimony to Paul Anthony Harris, aka Tony, on October 28, 1961. The union was blessed with five children: Lucinda Ruth Harris-Jackson, Paul Anthony Harris, Jr., Ronald Christopher Harris, Joseph Albert Harris, III; and Jennifer Suzann Walker.

She is the sister of Albert Mendez (passed at 1 year old), Susie Martinez, Josephine Esquibel, Della Alvarez, Max Mendez, Albert Mendez, Benny Mendez and Dolores Soto.

Jenny was in the hospitality industry as a supervisor of housekeeping. She was a mother, seamstress, cake decorator, doll maker (you might own one of her bunny rabbits now). She was a collector of Native American dolls, angels and some mean dance moves.

She was a faithful and devoted volunteer at Omar D. Blair Charter School where grandchildren Traye Jackson and Harris Walker attended. She would take lunch and snacks to them. Both staff and children loved her and looked forward to her visits and everyone called her Grandma.

She leaves to cherish her memory by her children: Lucinda Ruth Harris-Jackson - Denver; Paul A. Harris, Jr. (Dawn) of Canton, GA.; Ronald C. Harris (Cindy) of Las Vegas, NV; Joseph A. Harris, III of Denver, Co.; and Jennifer S. Walker (Michael) both of Denver, Co.; sister Dolores Soto and brother Brian Harris. Grandchildren: Michael Kowalski (Ft. Meade, MD), Christian Harris (Nevada), Savannah & Traye Jackson (Denver), Peyton & Connor Harris (Georgia) and Harris Walker (Denver) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Jenny’s life will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, 10:00am, at Mile Hi Church, 9077 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, Co. 80226

Jenny will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
