Emilio Lee Casica Jr. (Sonny), a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 85. Sonny was born on December 19th, 1938, in Denver, Colorado, and is the oldest of seven children. After graduating Westminster High School, Sonny proudly enlisted in the United States Army from November 1961 through October 1967. After his military service, Sonny continued his educational journey, enrolling in classes to further his education. In one of his classes, he met a strong-willed, beautiful young lady named Corrine Poblano (Komi). The two became friends, and their friendship soon blossomed into love, and the pair married in Gallup, New Mexico, on August 23rd, 1969. Sonny is survived by his wife, Corrine "Komi" Casica, of 54 years, his daughters Diane (Carl) and Raelynn (Brian), sons Emilio III (Jacqulyn) and Patrick (Lanessa), and 8 grandchildren: Tali, Neico, Dante, Kennedy, Teagan, Declan, Remi, and Rowan.
In his prime Sonny enjoyed cruising with Corrine in his 65’ Blue Mustang on 16th Street in Denver. Recently his passions included gardening, having an immaculate lawn, watching sports, action movies, and his favorite show, The Voice. Most of all Sonny was at his happiest when he was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
