Ronald W. Servis, CAPT., Esq., 75, Granby, Colorado, passed away in one of his favorite places, in the mountains of Colorado.
Ron was born the oldest of three children to William and Valentine Servis in Spencerport, New York on October 31, 1948. He graduated from Spencerport Central High School in 1966. Ron then attended College of Brockport, NY in 1970. Before his graduation, he entered the United States Navy OCS School and served during Vietnam. During his time in the US Navy, he was stationed all over the world, attended law school at Lewis University in Illinois, graduating in 1978. After passing the bar in Illinois and Colorado, he moved to Colorado to start his law practice and career. He found his love of law in Probate/Estate Law, taking great pride in being the 4th generation Attorney within the family. Ron while running his practice ended his US Military career being Honorably Discharged as a Captain with USNSGC in Great Lakes, Illinois, 2001.
Ron wore many titles: Captain, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, Friend, Volunteer, and many others. Ron also served time on the board of numerous organizations including, but not limited to the following: US Navy, VFW, Rugby, Soccer, NSCD Skiing, Adaptive Adventures, POETS, Lutheran Church of Granby, Colorado Law Association, HOAs. Ron loved being busy! He was generous with his time but devoted himself most to family and friends. Was well respected by colleagues. He was a proud father, loving husband, teaching his kids to ski and enjoyed traveling the world. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially the US Military. Ron wore his enormous heart on his sleeve making strong connections to all of those around. Ron lit up a room wherever he went, he was larger than life. He will truly and greatly be missed.
Ron had three children from his first marriage to Eileen Matiash. His sons Embry (Alissa), and Colin. His daughter Krystyn “Kricket”, two grandsons Henry and Griffin. He is survived by his brother Terry (Eileen) and his sister Kim (Jeff) Powell. Ron remarried 5 years ago to Judy, and gained 5 children, 17 grandchildren plus one great-grandchild. Ron and Judy met at the courthouse, and together they enjoyed traveling the world, wearing matching clothes, and spending time with each other, particularly in the mountains.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 beginning at 5:30PM until 7:00pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel,3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood.
The Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 12:00PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood. He will be buried with his wife, Judy, at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1400 on May 2, 2024.
