Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Callahan Nally

Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Callahan Nally, of Littleton, Colorado. August 6, 1932 - December 15, 2025.

Beth was blessed to live a long and fulfilling life. She passed peacefully at 93, surrounded by loved ones. 

Beth was born in Jersey City, NJ, to Mary Elizabeth Salmon and William James Callahan. She graduated from Saugerties HS at the age of 16 (1949), where she lettered in four sports. She worked to put herself through Potsdam University, receiving her BS in Education in 1953. Beth moved to Colorado in 1956 for her Master’s in Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder. While at CU, she met John Joseph Nally, who was attending CU for his accounting degree. They married in 1959.

Beth had a calling for teaching, especially third grade students. She taught in Long Island, Denver County, and Jefferson County schools. Beth was an avid bridge player and a competitive golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and interior design. She had a sharp wit, and always had a joke to share. She was a devoted caregiver to John during his extended battle with dementia. 

Beth was preceded in death by John in 2014. She is survived by her children, Liza (Chris) Milam, Scott Nally, and Christina Nally, and four grandchildren. Her family is comforted knowing she was a faithful Christian. She was laid to rest with John at Fort Logan cemetery, following a private ceremony. Prayers are appreciated.
