Obituary

Joanna Therese Kenny, 89, of Denver Colorado, passed away on November 4, 2026, after a brief illness.

Joanna was born in Denver, Colorado, to Jacob Plute and Benadetta (Canzona) in 1937. She grew up in North Denver and graduated from Mt Carmel High School. She went on to work at the Mountain Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company in Denver where she met many cherished life-long friends. She met her husband Dennis Kenny and married in 1958. Most of her life she was a homemaker.

Joanna was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by her four children, Deacon Tim Kenny (Mary Sue), Denise Snyder (Brent), Ann Woosley (Doug) and Kathleen Davia (Dave), grandchildren Isabella Oh (Jason), Brandon Snyder, Mariel Snyder, Sophia Kenny, Samuel Kenny, Ava Woosley, and Rocco Davia, great grandchild Augustine Oh, brother Anthony Plute (Anna), Sister-in-law Betty Kenny, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, three children Therese, Margaret, and Michael, as well as her parents and brothers.

Joanna was a bright light and loved all life offered. She found great joy in her love of God and her Catholic faith. She attended daily Mass and was an active member at her church. She and Dennis traveled all over the USA and to many parts of the world. They loved their time visiting family and friends.

Joanna made an impact on everyone she met. She was a beautiful, compassionate, and generous woman giving of her whole self to anyone who needed it. She never met a stranger and loved meeting new people whether at church, a gala, the grocery store, or Mariel’s in Cherry Creek, where she worked styling women with her daughter.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 AM followed by Holy Mass will at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2375 E Arizona Ave, Denver, CO 80210.
