Michael Price, 68, was a dedicated and loving husband, father, "Grumpy", brother, uncle, and best friend. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2017. He was surrounded by love of family and friends in The Denver Hospice and passed peacefully on February 20, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Beth, his son, Chris and his wife Brandi, his daughters Jenny and Julie, and his brother Randall and his wife Darlene, and their children Randy and Laura. Michael was "Grumpy" to four amazing grandchildren: Adriana, Blake, Delaney, and Marcus. He became part of the loud and rambunctious Canavan family more than 43 years ago.

Michael had an incredibly quick and witty sense of humor that he has passed along to his children and grandchildren.
He was a loyal and kind man who loved his family more than anything. He and Mary Beth built a house in the mountains in the early 80s. This has been a gathering place for friends and family ever since. So many memories have been made at the cabin, from a baby Julie breaking her arm to Chris and Brandi getting married, it is a place to go to reminisce about childhood memories, make new memories and reconnect with one another.

Fast forward a few years after Michael and Mary Beth successfully raised three adults who all began lives of their own, and Michael found a new passion - starting up a pond and sprinkler supply business. Michael and Chris worked side by side every day at making this vision a reality. At some point in their lives, his daughters and grandchildren worked at the store in some capacity, making it truly a family business. Michael absolutely loved working there, building something from scratch and seeing it succeed. But above all else, he loved working with his son and best friend for so many years. They developed a bond no one could break and spoke every day. Michael worked up until two weeks before his passing, stating that despite the cancer zapping his energy he felt like himself and found joy in working at the store.

From building a tree house at the cabin to body surfing on the beach in Maui, everything he did was for the enjoyment of his family. He loved hosting barbecues, making his famous macaroni salad and watching his grandkids play ball in the back yard or throw rocks in the pond. He even built a beach in the mountains! As you can imagine this was no easy feat. This project consisted of digging into the mountainside and leveling the dirt then getting 15 tons of sand delivered and moving it into place. He enjoyed very much making something new for his family to enjoy, and this gave him an opportunity to play with his skid steer.

His laughter and love has carried us all through some difficult times. His life was a blessing and a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
