Ralph Willard Jordan, age 92, a native and life-long resident of Aurora, CO, passed on July 1, 2025.
Ralph graduated from Aurora High School in 1951, winning all-conference honors his senior year in football, basketball and track. Following graduation, he served on the USS Midway during the Korean conflict. Ralph obtained Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in education from the University of Northern Colorado, a Secondary Education Administrative Certificate from the University of Denver where he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, and a Vocational Education Administrative Certificate from Colorado State University.
Ralph worked in the Aurora Public Schools for 31 years. He was a business education teacher and basketball and track coach at Aurora Central High School, and served as Assistant Director at T.H. Pickens Vocational-Technical School (now Pickens Technical College). He retired in 1989. Ralph was a 10-year member of Aurora Kiwanis, enjoyed travel, read books, tinkered on his computer, loved western movies, and avidly followed all Colorado professional sports teams.
Ralph is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Sharon “Sherry”, daughter Shelly of Littleton, son Kirk of Las Vegas, NV, and grandson Christopher (Ashley) of Sparks, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Bertis and Virginia Lee Jordan, and his sister, Leberta Vickers.
No funeral service will be held at Ralph’s request.
