Nicholas G. Michas, born January 18, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Gus and Diamond Michas
Nick was a high school state wrestling champion and graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in marketing and management.
He married the love of his life Jean Mashos on August 28, 1955. They moved to Denver Colorado with his parents and brothers where he started his long and successful business career consisting of First National Bank of Denver, Miller Supermarket, and then opening a variety of retail businesses (liquor stores, laundromats, and a cosmetic store).
Nick was a renaissance man with huge intellectual curiosity, loved reading and history, enjoyed watching sports and playing golf with his friends. He loved being with his family, was the consummate host, and was always the last one on the dance floor.
He was a member of St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church.
Nick is survived by his wife Jean of 68 years, his 4 children Vicki, Gus, Jim and his wife Kristin, and Deborah, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren (with one more on the way), and his brother James and his wife Betty.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Gus and Diamond, and his brother Peter.
