Thomas Edward Cuttita passed away on January 25th, 2018 at the age of 67 due to a massive heart attack. He is survived by his two daughters Luanne and Charlotte Cuttita, and his beloved granddaughter Ava-Marie to whom he affectionately referred to as ‘the dumpling’.

Thomas lived a life full of passion, dedication, and laughter. His smile and his laugh could light up a room, and he always had a twinkle in his eye when he told one of his classic Dad jokes. He spent much of his short time here in this life doing things he loved like writing, spending time with his children, enjoying music (especially The Boss Bruce Springsteen), attending Broncos games, and being an activist in his community. He also devoted much of his time to volunteering and taught his children the importance of giving to others and doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Thom was a one of a kind human being, someone who left an impression on everyone he met.

One of his lasting contributions to this world was his gift of molding and shaping words into vivid and animated stories. He had a God given talent for writing and his written voice will live on long after his physical voice has left us. In the words of Thom himself; “To quote Isaac Asimov ‘Writing, to me is simply thinking through my fingers.’ For two decades I’ve channeled my inquisitive mind though the tips of my fingers. A friend from long ago asked, ‘So, when did you become a writer?’ It’s not like I looked in the mirror one morning and saw a writer looking back at me. No, with little formal training and a fearless attitude I dove head first into what has become a passion for translating thoughts into words. I’ve never been intimidated by a blank page because each piece I write is an exploration. I may not know where an essay will take me, but I always know when I’ve arrived at my destination.” Thom has now arrived at his destination and returned to his heavenly home with his heavenly Father and is now smiling down on all of us (likely while drinking a beer, petting every dog he has loved in his lifetime, and exchanging jokes with the likes of George Carlin and Robin Williams).
