He attended St Jean Baptiste school for 12 yrs. He played basketball and was a team captain of the baseball team. When he was a senior in high school he tried out for the Boston Red Sox but due to ankle injuries, did not make the team. Ed met Teddy Williams and he caught for Warren Spahn in an exhibition game for the Boston Braves and the Boston Red Sox.

He was in the National Guard while in high school. In 1953 he was drafted by the Air Force and in 1954 stationed in Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD. He was a Crew Chief on a RB-36 plane and ferried planes from Rapid City, SD to Guam and he went on classified missions to Korea. He was discharged in Oct of 1958.

In 1962 Ed decided to move his family to California with a stop in Colorado to visit friends. After the friends persuaded him to look around Denver they decided to make Colorado their home.

Ed spent his working years in the banking industry and held multiple positions within them. He first worked for North Denver Bank and then went to work for National City Bank as a head teller. While working at the North Denver Bank he met two individuals who mentioned that they were opening a new bank called Aurora National Bank which they asked him if he would consider working for them. In 1964 he went to work for them as a head teller and was then promoted to Operation Officer. He worked for the bank for over 12 years as the Vice President and Cashier as the Operations Officer of all departments. He left the bank in 1977 to open his own company, Colorado Banking Institute. His company would conduct seminars on various departments of the bank and would travel to many states to conduct them. The seminars were well received by all who attended. Many enjoyed his humor and found the information very useful in their banking position. Many enjoyed them so much they would return again. In August of 2010 he would retire and close the business.

Ed conducted a seminar in Muskogee, Ok. In 1981 it is there that he met his current wife Judith Haas. Judy worked for Victor Savings and Loans and worked there many years. Ed and Judy had a long distance relationship for two and a half years. In January of 1984 they married. Judy's family lived in Muskogee and Ed wanted her to be able to spend time with them. They bought a condo in Muskogee and split their time between Oklahoma and Colorado.

Ed spent many years involved and volunteering for Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts and Y.M.C.A. He worked and helped organize the Special Olympics for the first two years it was held in Colorado. He was always the first person to volunteer when asked.
