Brett was proud of his family legacy in the Local 7 Stagehand Union in Denver. He worked many rock and roll concerts and shows at McNichol's Arena, Mile High Stadium and Red Rocks and his favorite concert was Clint Black and Wynona Judd.

Together they took on many business adventures running their own companies: ABC Hauling and Removal in Colorado Springs, CO, Oakwood Residential Building Company in Durango, CO and started a brokerage of Carpet Direct in Durango, CO. In between his business ventures he worked for the Kleven family business, Oakwood Construction Company, where he was a strong advocate for the Pueblo Home Builders Association. Brett dedicated himself to his family and friends. The greatest joy of his life were his children, Colton and Ryanne. Brett never ran out of love to share and lived his life to the fullest. He had many life time adventures from sky diving, rafting, bungee jumping, snowmobiling, boating and anything exhilarating, fast and outdoors. He was the life of any party and always led with his heart. His most memorable saying was "I Love Ya Man" but we will remember his robust laugh and his heart of gold.
