Stephen Scott Cain, 75, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away October 8, 2018. He was born July 8, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Mabel Cain and Clinton Cain.
Steve Cain is survived by Janice Cain, his loving wife of 47 years. He is survived by Scott Cain and Laura Cain, his son and daughter. Steve has 4 Grandchildren: McKinley, Adalyn, Henry and Harrison.
Steve is a graduate of George Washington High School and University of Denver and has called Denver home for more than 70 years.
Steve was a champion in all walks of life. He was an incredible athlete with an attitude that lifted everybody around him. This attribute served him well as a Physical Education Teacher for 33 years in the Denver Public Schools District. As a teacher, he knew how to get the most out of his students while still leaving smiles on their faces. He did this at home as well. He always put his children first and gave them every opportunity imaginable. His humor was priceless, and will always be remembered.
Steve was able to travel the world in his early years of retirement through 2017. Travelling became his favorite hobby, quickly replacing his souring relationship with Golf. When he wasn't reading about history, he was traveling to historic sites across the globe.
Steve will be remembered for his dry humor; ridiculously large steaks; Xavier Basketball; love for Scottish Terriers; heavy history books landing on the floor as he fell asleep reading them; and arriving early....to everything.
Memorial donations are suggested to: Http://coloradogives.org/Stevecain, or to National Jewish Health at https://www.nationaljewish.org/home and donations will be applied to pulmonary disease research.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Glenmoor Country Club 110 Glenmoor Dr, Englewood, CO 80113.
