Dorothy was born to Emma and Tony Meier on July 20th, 1935 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She resided and worked most of her life in the Denver Metro Area. Dorothy married Donald on March 18th, 1960 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Their marriage lasted 59 years until the Lord called upon Dorothy.
Dorothy’s career had several different paths. She was a pie maker, egg candler, and window manufacturer. She also worked for Gates Rubber Company for many years. Dorothy finally retired her hard working hands at the age of 72.
Some of Dorothy’s hobbies were fishing, gardening and growing red roses, and cruises when she had the chance to go. Her favorites were country dancing and chocolate. Unfortunately Dorothy’s hobby time was shortened by her fight with dementia. She spent her last few years in Julia Temple long term care facility. This is where she passed on March 1st, 2019.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three elder sisters, and two of her five children, Tony and Lorrie. Survivors include her husband, Donald; three children, Thelma, Kim (John), and Donald, Jr. (Terri); and many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her!
