DeWayne Durham

DeWayne Durham of Westminster, Colorado, formerly of Fredonia, Kansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 14th. He is survived by his wife Diane, two sons Jackson DeWayne and Jonathan David, all of the home; and his father Bill Durham, and sister Sherri Wickham, both of Fredonia. He was preceded in death in 1957 by his mother Betty Jo (Swindler) Durham, and in 1986 by his sister Deanna Durham. DeWayne was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on January 24, 1955. He moved to Fredonia in 1961 and attended Fredonia schools, graduating in 1973. He worked for Radiant Electric as a lineman until attending Pittsburg State University. He graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering. He later moved to the Denver area and worked as a Control Systems Engineer at Tri-State Generation and Transmission. In 1990 he was married to Diane Dawson. Although living with cancer since 1982, DeWayne was an avid snow skier, golfer, runner, and loved spending time playing with his boys. He was a member of the Westminster Church of the Nazarene. He fought a long battle courageously through his faith, and with the love and support of family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Westminster Church of the Nazarene in Westminster, Colorado. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. A memorial has been established with the Denver Rescue Mission, Lawrence & Park Ave. West, Denver, Co 80205.
