William Ford

William Eugene Ford, known to his family and friends as Bill, passed on April 13 at the age of 62. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and moved with his family to Denver in 1962.  Bill graduated from Denver South High School and worked in eastern Colorado, the western slope of Colorado, Denver, the Seattle area, Santa Fe and finally settled permanently back in Denver.  Bill’s life often took challenging turns, but Bill never complained and was perseverant. When he died Bill was working with the warehouse team for Advance Auto Parts in Denver.

Bill was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He never missed a Broncos game and loved going to see the teams play at the stadiums in Denver. He always marked the passing of a former Broncos star from the teams of previous years.

Church was a very big part of Bill’s life. He often attended services at Arise Church and joined several community groups organized at the church, and he helped with some of the volunteer service missions at the church. The fellowship at the church was hugely important to Bill.

Bill is survived by his mother, Marian Ford in Denver, his brother Robert and wife Alison in Maine, brother Brian and aunt Jay Breen, also in Denver, and uncle Patrick and wife Marilyn in Oregon. The family is deeply grateful to Bill’s friends, Easter Seals and Bill’s church who all gave so much of their time and efforts after his return to Denver with coaching, help with his living arrangements and especially with fellowship. They all made a huge difference in Bill’s life.

There will be a memorial service for Bill at Arise Church on Wednesday, July 20 at 11 AM followed by a luncheon for Bill’s friends and family who would like to attend. The church is located at 8700 East 21st Street in Denver.
