William (Bill) I. Christmann 72, longtime resident of Golden, CO, passed away September 15, 2022 at the Lutheran Hospice Care Center.
Visitation will be September 23, 2022 at 1:00pm – 3:00 pm at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227. Bill will be cremated and ashes will be spread at a later date.
Bill was born in Bismarck, ND on July 27th 1950 to Carl and Frances (Kuntz) Christmann. He was raised on a Dairy Farm in Center ND. He graduated from Center High School and then attended Western Technical School in Denver, where he later settled and worked as a Denver Public Schools Fleet Mechanic. Bill retired in 2000 from Denver Public Schools and started working for CODI Manufacturing in Golden, he really enjoyed the new work and learning something new.
Bill spent his free time after retirement visiting with family and friends. Bill’s interests and hobbies were fixing cars, rebuilding classic cars and golf. Bill loved going to all the Antique and ARC stores looking for treasures. He collected many items, pictures (many with great value), match holders and spittoons. His pride and joy was his yard, he loved working outside and keeping it beautiful. Bill loved crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. In his early years he did mechanic work on the side and had many customers that appreciated his help and work.
Bill is survived by his three children, son Matthew and daughter-in-law Brandi Christmann of Laramie, WY, daughter Leann Christmann of Brighton, CO and daughter Michelle Christmann and Nick Akin of Henderson, CO. and two granddaughters, Leann’s daughter Madison and Michelle and Nick’s daughter Rylee. Bill is survived by four siblings, three sisters Mary Ann, Susan and Nancy and brother Bruce.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother Frances, father Carl and brother Carl Jr.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held at 4890 Howell Street, Golden, CO 80403 on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 4:30pm. Please join the family in celebrating Bill’s life.
