Virginia Davis

Virginia “Gig” Ruth Moreland Davis, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 27, 2020, in Aurora, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, James Francis Davis.  She leaves her four children: son Christopher and Barbara of Oviedo, FL, daughters Jeanine and Peggy of Los Angeles, CA, and son Timothy of Denver, and grandchildren Hailey, Connor, Joshua, and Sarah.  She was preceded in death by siblings Marilyn, Paul, and Carol, and leaves siblings Mary Neuwohner, John Moreland, and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was born in Mason City, Iowa, and spent her formative years growing up in various parts of Iowa.  She received her degree in Nursing and retired after many years as the Assistant Director of Nursing at General Rose Hospital in Denver Colorado. She and James retired early and used that time to travel the world.  In her later years, she enjoyed being active in the Heather Gardens retirement community in Aurora. She had a very active faith life and attended Mass at St. Michaels and Queen of Peace Churches, and in the community center of Heather Gardens. Virginia was a homebody, having only three addresses for her entire adult life. She was an avid reader.  She also enjoyed laughing and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and her many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to your local food bank or funds to support those in dire need during the pandemic. A rosary will be held at 10:00 AM on November 3rd at Saint Michael The Archangel. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on November 3rd  at Saint Michael The Archangel 19099 E Floyd Ave, Aurora, CO 80013. Condolences can be shared with the family by visiting https://www.horancares.com.
