Victor Veatch

November 3, 1953 — May 27, 2021

Westminster

Victor Veatch of Thornton passed away on May 27, 2021 with his family by his side. Victor was born on November 3, 1953 in Casper Wyoming and eventually moved to Denver, then to Westminster where he spent most of his life. Victor is survived by his brothers Kent and Robert, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, and father.

Victor loved to travel and had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed skiing in the Special Olympics, and an occasional camping trip. Victor’s trips included Niagara Falls, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and San Antonio. But his favorite place to visit was the mountains any time of year.

Victor’s main hobby was trains and visiting the areas railroad museums. His biggest rail thrill was getting a chance to ride the Cheyenne Frontier Days rail excursion round-trip from Denver to Cheyenne. It was being pulled by the heaviest steamer on rails from Union Pacific. On that day, Victor experienced a rare moment for rail fans, the Rio Grande Ski Train with its vintage cars along side the Union Pacific and its vintage cars. Since then, Union Station has become a hub for light rail and bus route, and continues to be a major stop for Amtrack’s California Zephyr.

Victor also loved the college and pro sports teams. He was also a huge Broncos fan, always wearing the colors and enjoyed watching them win three Super Bowls.

Victor worked for North Metro for several years as he enjoyed the friendships of all the people he worked and lived with. He was also happy to share his accomplishments with family and friends.
