Theresa is survived by her two daughters Debra Jo Crum and Sheri Lee Murphy, 9 grandchildren; Chad Joseph Cantu (Marietta), Marci Jo Perino (Sheldon), Marla Jo Crum (Nicke), Amanda Jo Cantu (Jason), Margo Jo Pergola (JoJo), Erica Jo Ciardullo (Josh), Alisha Jo Ford, Samantha Jo Deichert (Ty), and Gabriel Joseph Murphy. She is also survived by her sisters Violet Gargano, Marion George and a brother-in-law and five sisters-in-law.

Theresa (a.k.a. TeeTee) grew up on her family’s truck farm in Welby Co., where she loved having her hands in the soil, helping her family grow fresh vegetables and fruit. She graduated from Assumption Catholic School where she caught the eye of a young seminarian, Henry Younger, in 1950. She married Henry, her high school sweetheart, on December 30, 1951 at Assumption Catholic Church. Happily, they lived in a basement apartment on the farm where they had their first child, Debi.  Shortly after, they converted the garage to a two-room home as Theresa started working at the Sky Chef Diner at Stapleton Airport along side her sister-in-law Lucille.  There she was introduced to waitressing and rubbing elbows with celebrities as they passed thru Denver’s Stapleton Airport.

After Debi was born, Theresa suffered 4 miscarriages. But through lots of prayer and faith, she gave birth to her second child, Sheri in 1959 as they moved into their very first home in unincorporated Adams County. For those 10 years, Tee was able to hone her waitressing skills and learned how to manage and run a restaurant.  In 1969 Henry and Theresa bought Ciancios, a restaurant, bar, store, and house which was next door to Assumption. Soon after, Younger Bros. Lumber Company was started by Henry and his brothers where Theresa helped whenever she could. Being huge Bronco fans Henry and Theresa had season tickets and loved following the Broncos to away games and even Super Bowls.

Life was full of social gatherings with lots of family and lots of friends. People instantly felt a connection to TeeTee because of her warmth and kindness that made everyone feel so special.  Everybody loved TeeTee.

Theresa finished her restaurant managing career at both Mickeys Restaurant and The Prospector. She then decided to put her talents to use in the political arena and helped run a County Commissioner campaign for her brother-in-law, Leo Younger, and other friends. Then she ran campaigns for Henry as he was elected to the Board of The North Washington Fire Department.

In 1973 Henry finished building the family’s dream home on DelNorte Street. TeeTee had the most fun designing each room with lavish colors and textures including long purple shag carpet, gold sheen patterned wallpaper, a gorgeous avocado velvet couch and black stone walls, to name just a few. Once their daughters married, grandchildren filled the home with plenty of babysitting and sleepovers. Theresa loved putting her grandchildren to work teaching them to clean and cook, amongst other things. Years later, they moved to Hunters Glenn where life relaxed. This is where TeeTee suffered a stroke in 2005 that paralyzed her speech and right side. Henry and TeeTee moved into their final home with their daughter and son-in-law.  With faith, love and compassion, life was full of joy. Trips to central city, family gatherings, dining out, and cocktails on the patio at home topped the couples social life. In 2016, Henry passed away, although the family believe’s that he never left Tee’s side. She joined him eternally May 30, 2023.
