Susan Ann Nelson, age 55, died comfortably in her home during the early morning hours of October 9th. She was surrounded by love and peace.
She was born on September 26, 1965, in Long Island, New York, to William and Dotty (Bush) Searing. Susan grew up in Miami, Florida with her brother Dennis Searing, and sister Sandra Searing, before settling in Denver where she spent her remaining years. Susan always worked in the medical field and had a passion for helping people, she spent most of her working time as an x-ray technologist both at Rose and Skyridge Hospital. Susan’s co-workers and patients always felt well cared for and comforted.
Susan had a daughter, Megan Derrevere, in 1997 from a previous marriage. She later married Jeff Nelson on June 13th, 2004 after falling fast in love at a dance. Following her marriage to Jeff, she gained a stepson, Shane Nelson.
Susan was a devoted mother, caring sister, loving wife, and kind soul. She was a best friend to many and was known for having extraordinary empathy for people going through tough times. Susan enjoyed crafting, jamming to music, camping, ATVing, sitting by the ocean, and relaxing with her dogs. She was a kind woman who always did her best to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
A memorial service will be held on October 18th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Horan McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue. Relatives and friends are welcome to come share memories, condolences, and support at this time.
