Sue Hassell

Sue Arlene (Wilson) Hassell, age 81, passed away on May 11, 2022, due to complications of a severe fall.

Sue was born on February 13, 1941, in Cortez, Colorado, to Glenn and Mary Wilson. She graduated from Montezuma High School and went on to Fort Lewis College in Durango where she met and married Wendell Hassell at the age of 21. Sue graduated from Fort Lewis with her associate degree. She used her organizational skills as a mother of eight children.

Sue loved to bowl, play softball, bake and tell stories of her family. Sue was passionate about her role as a mother, always supporting her children’s activities, music groups, and sports teams. She taught her children about the Savior and tried to live her life to reflect His example.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell; 7 children: Shane Hassell (Euziane), Mindy Kleinman (Eric, deceased), Gerry Hassell, Darren Hassell (Melissa), Melysa Nusbaum (Jim), Wendy Lewis (Chris), Aaron Hassell (Kristen); 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her sister Ann Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kelly and Johnny, and son Bryan.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 22nd, from 4:00-6:00 pm, at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, Colorado  80003

The Funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, May 23rd, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 7080 Independence Street, Arvada, CO  80004.

A private graveside service for family will be held at the Arvada Cemetery.
