Shirley J. Streich

Shirley J. Streich was born December 5, 1927, to Gladys and Louis Wangerin in Stewart, Minnesota.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.  She attended Stewart Public School and graduated in May of 1945.

Shirley worked in Glencoe, Minnesota for several years where she met her husband, Leon Streich.  They were married on August 15, 1948, with Pastor Martin Schuly officiating.  They lived in Glencoe, Minnesota where their three children were born.  In 1964, the family moved to Littleton, Colorado.  Shirley worked for the Red Owl Agency and then was employed by Safeway for eighteen years, retiring on October 31, 1987.

Shirley enjoyed making many quilts for Lutheran World Relief, also bible studies, and belonging to several circle groups at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Shirley will take place at 10:00 am Monday, June 28, 2021, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 6322 South Lakeview Street, Littleton, Colorado 80120.
