Sandra Kauffman

Sandy was born January 3, 1943, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Susie (Darrah) Legg.

Sandy graduated from Iowa State University in 1965 as a Home Economics Major. She taught Home Economics at a Grand Rapids, MI. High School until she decided the climate was to cold, she then went to Houston, TX., and went into retail, selling ladies ready to wear. When her mother had health problems Sandy went back to Seymour, IA. And took a position as Assistant Manager of a locally owned department store in Ottumwa, IA.

In 1974 she met Ray Kauffman, On April 29, 1975 They were married and moved to Aurora, CO. where she worked as a buyer for a chain of small ladies clothing stores (75 stores in 14 states), when they closed she then went to May D&F department store as a buyer of many brands of ladies clothing until 1994, upon leaving there she became a Realtor® with Coldwell Banker Realty, In 2009 she was honored by being chosen REALTOR® OF THE YEAR by her peers at the Aurora Association of Realtors , she retired as an active Realtor in 2020.

Sandra is survived by her husband Ray, many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends throughout the business world.

Sandy was an avid Bronco fan, and enjoyed basketball (was a player in high school), also enjoyed getting together with five other Ladies (girls), that went from kindergarten thru High School together.

A Memorial Reception will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 2-3:30pm at HeartLight Center 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014.  Seating is limited.  Please RSVP below.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on May 16, 2021 at One in the afternoon and a Reception will follow at Community Center in Seymour, Iowa.
