Sahara Aguirre De Rodriguez

January 22, 1934 — September 6, 2020

Brighton

Sahara Aguirre De Rodriguez, 86, of Brighton passed away on September 6, 2020 at Elms Haven Center in Thornton.

Born on January 22, 1934 she was the daughter of Guadalupe and Belen (Moreno) Aguirre.  She was born and raised in Guachochi, Chihuahua Mexico.  She moved to Brighton, Colorado in 1981, where she lived with her husband, Desiderio and they were married for almost 50 years before she was widowed. While Spanish was her native language she also learned and mastered the Tarahumara language.

Sahara worked as a meat packer for Barbers Poultry and Longmont Foods for about 20 years.  When she was real young she learned how to sew and become a wonderful seamstress. She would always be willing to fix clothes or even make clothes for her grandkids and great grandkids.

In addition to enjoying sewing/ knitting, she also loved to cook and to have people over for visits. She always enjoyed seeing her family, and spending time with them.  She was so proud of her only son Armando, and his wife, Evelia.  She loved and adored all of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and would never let them forget that.  Her laugh was contagious, and her feisty personality will never be forgotten.  She enjoyed taking long trips to her hometown, and living on her farm. She looked forward to her annual trips back to Mexico to make sure the trees were cut and sold, the animals were ok or she would also bring more animals back to the farm.

She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, ornery personality, her cooking and for being such a loving person to all!

She is survived by her son, Armando Rodriguez and his wife, Evelia, her grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Phillip Greenwald, Crystal and her husband, Phillip Lobato, Victoria and her husband Robert Montoya, and her 3 great grandchildren: Payton, Gianni, and Samantha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers, husband, Desiderio Rodriguez, and grandson Victor.
