Ruben Phillip Gallegos, 79, of Denver, Colo., departed this life on Wednesday April 7th, 2021.

Born November 7th, 1941 in Dolores, Colo. He was the son of the late Victor Ruybalid Gallegos and Esther (Vallejos) Gallegos. Ruben spent his childhood in the Silverton, Ouray and Telluride areas before moving with his wife Marie and family to Denver, Colorado.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Gallegos of the family home: sons, Phillip Gallegos, Chad Gallegos; two daughters, Judy Wescott and Carol Herrera of Denver. Also surviving, is brothers Mark (Patty) Gallegos, Michael Gallegos, Larry (Sharon) Gallegos. And sisters; Perfy (Orlando) Garcia, Vickie Violi, and Sharon Barajas. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Ruben was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and the best grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, but he will live on in our hearts forever. Ruben enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Esther Gallegos; brothers Dave, Jasper, Rudy and Chief Gallegos, as well as sisters; Vickie Gallegos, and Rosalie Sandoval of Montrose. A memorial service in celebration of Ruben’s life will be held at Presentation of Our Lady Church, 695 Julian Street Denver Colorado, on May 15th 2021 at 2pm . Arrangements are under the direction of Horan & McConaty of Denver.
