He and Carol moved around often with Consumers, living in Kalamazoo, Jackson, Lansing, Waterford, and Grand Rapids. They also spent two years in Bursa, Turkey right before he retired. They loved to travel, play golf, attend Michigan games, and spend time with their children and grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his three children, Kathryn Bisaro of Warwick, NY; John and his wife Karen of Lakewood, CO; and Tom and his wife Sherilyn of Kingwood, TX. He is also survived by his brother Ed Cleaver of Kalamazoo; sister Penny (Richard) Bagwell of Punta Gorda, FL; brother-in-law Jack Hartman of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Carol, Dick was predeceased by his sister, Donna Wotta, and sisters-in-law, Judy Cleaver and Kathleen Hartman.
