Patrick J. Murphy of Thornton, CO passed away Sunday May 8th, surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on April 12th 1945 to Ernest and Shirley Murphy. His grandmother Katherine helped raise and shape him into the wonderful man he would become. He moved to Denver as a teenager and attended Mount Carmel and North High Schools. It was in high school where Patrick would meet the love of his life, Sandy - his wife of 55 years.

Patrick graduated high school in 1963 and the joined the US Marines. He served 4 years, including time in Vietnam. After returning home from the service, Patrick became a licensed plumber and worked on some of the most famous Denver venues, including Coors Field, Denver International Airport (DIA), and Empower Field at Mile High.

Patrick is survived by his wife Sandy, his four children Kelli (Mike), Anthony (Shantile), Kerri (Donnie), and Shayne (Joseph). His stepmother Janet, brothers Ernie (Sharon), Mike (Nanette), Tim, Shayne (Julie), Tracy (Debbie), and sister Sheli (Paul). As well as his sisters-in-law Terry and Shelley (Marv). As well as numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patrick is proceeded in death by his brother Danny and granddaughter Staci.

Patrick was very proud of his Irish roots. He loved his family and built a legacy of 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.

Spending time with family was always special. Patrick loved fishing, playing cards, watching Nascar, and playing fantasy football with his brothers, nephews, and grandson.

Patrick also enjoyed time with friends, especially his neighborhood breakfast club.

Patrick loved sports of almost any kind. ESPN was always on! He loved the Denver Broncos, the St. Louis Cardinals, but most importantly his Nebraska Cornhuskers. Anything Nebraska Cornhuskers! Go Big Red.
