Olympia Mascarenas

January 5, 1950 — November 19, 2020

Olympia Guadalupe (Quiroz) Mascarenas, 70, of Denver, Co entered the Gates of Heaven on Thursday November 19th. Olympia was born on January 5, 1950 to Rosa and Robert Quiroz who preceded her in death. Olympia, known as Lupe to family and close friends grew up in Denver’s Sun Valley Neighborhood being one of 12 siblings. Olympia grew up appreciating the meaning of family at an early age as she helped care for her sisters and brothers growing up. She continues to be loved by many and known as selfless, warm, and caring. She always put other’s needs before her own and this held true to her very last breath. Olympia was a Coloradan at heart; living in Denver most of her life, she did spend a significant amount of years in New Mexico, some in Trinidad, and a small amount of time in Texas. With each move to a new place she had the needs of her children at heart, wherever she felt there was a need she would put everything aside and go help. Olympia “Lupe” is survived by her five children and thirteen grandchildren; Eddie Fransua and his children Monique and Danielle; Maria Fransua and her children Santana and Christian; T.J Mascarenas (Terri Blaubach) and their children Joey, Jeri, Damien, and Rayna; Daniel (Stephanie) Mascarenas and their children Diego, Daniel, and Olivia; Melissa Mascarenas and her children Tahlia and Nicholas and five of her siblings along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her heart and she left this world with a warm and peaceful heart knowing she got to spend quality time with every single one of her grandkids. Lupe enjoyed talks with her siblings and spending time with them when they came into town. She was very close with her Sister Ana, who passed away 3 years ago and there is no doubt they are definitely happy to be together again.

Olympia will be cremated, however, due to COVID restrictions in Colorado services will be put on hold until the family can safely gather. There will be an opportunity to participate virtually and the family is hoping to gather in the summer to celebrate her life. In Lieu of flowers the family will be making a donation to obtain Personal Protective Equipment to go to Good Samaritan hospital and all of the front-line workers.
