Nancy Black

Nancy Mae Black, age 72, died at Swedish Medical Center on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Born on February 18, 1948, in Washington, DC.  Nancy was a resident of both Maryland and Virginia during her childhood and early adult years and had been a resident of Denver, (which she called her home), for over 40 years.

Nancy began her career as a Senate Page in the early 1970s and spent most of her career in the Hospitality Industry.  At the time of her death, Huntington House Condominium Association employed Nancy.

Nancy was very involved politically and gave her support to many local and presidential campaigns.

She proudly referred to herself as an “Obama Girl” because of her support and hard work during both of his Campaigns.

Nancy loved nature and was a member of several organizations that protected as well as respected the environment.

Among her favorites were the Audubon and Arbor Societies and the Sierra Club.

Nancy was an extremely gifted artist, even having her artwork displayed in local state buildings.

She was also a wonderful singer and would quickly harmonize with her nephew, John, during many visits back East.

Survivors include her nephews:   John Stewardson (Amy) of Virginia, Daniel Stewardson (Rhonda) of Virginia, niece, (by marriage), Sue Stewardson as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews that will miss her terribly.

Nancy was preceded in death by Raleigh and Blanche Black, (parents) George Black, “Butch” Black, (brothers), Patty Stewardson, (sister), Mike Stewardson, (nephew) and Rhyan Stewardson, (great-nephew).
