Monroe "Roe" Crouch

June 3, 1930 — May 2, 2021

Lakewood

Roe Crouch, born in Ohio on June 3, 1930, was 90 years old when he passed away, peacefully and with his family at home on May 2, 2021.  Roe had a long career as an Aerospace Engineer, working in Titusville, Huntsville, DC and Lakewood.  He ended his career at Martin Marietta with the highest security clearance given; it was referred as working “Behind the Green Door”. He received many awards, letters and patches for his years of service putting rockets, telescopes, and astronauts into space.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 46 years, Laura Crouch.  They met at the roller-skating rink and she use to always say he “was such a player and ladies’ man”.  Roe was dad to five kids, Mike (Bobbie Jo) Crouch, Tim (Donna) Crouch, BJ (Lisa) Wilson, Laurinda (Tommy) McIntosh, Lessia (GT) Sanford.  A Papa to 10 grandkids; Ryan, Logan, Kaitlin, Sarah, Alex, Timmy, Tanner, Chandler, Bruce and Jon and 14 great-grandkids. He went to so many soccer games and hockey games cheering on his grandboys.  He loved to travel, so he and Laura bought a motorhome to see kids, grandkids and great-grandkids all across the country.  Many trips to Florida and New York to spend summers with the family. In his younger days, Roe was an amazing dancing roller skater.  You could find him at Skate City every Thursday night for Family Skate Night.

He will be missed dearly by his family and wife.  As he used to tell all of us “It’s nice to see your smiling face”.  Those words mean so much now as we know he’s smiling down on each of us.

You are welcome to attend a visitation at Horan & McConaty at 3101 S. Wadsworth from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Roe will have a burial service with military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.  Due to the amount of people allowed at the cemetery, this service is for immediate family only.
