Michelle Gayle Mallin, age 51, passed away Tuesday, October 19th in The Denver Hospice following a lengthy fight with cancer with her husband and close friend at her bedside.  Born in New York, she shared her childhood between Anchorage, Alaska, and Long Island, New York.  After completing her education in New York, she worked for a large publishing company that later relocated her to Colorado.  This is where she fell in love with the various veteran and first responder charities she is so widely known for supporting.  It is also where she met her husband, Dean, who she married on October 27, 2019.

Michelle is most known for the love and commitment she put into helping create the Honor Bell to pay tribute to veterans at their passing.  She was a member of the Elks and an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.  She actively participated in both organizations to support veteran causes.  She was also a longtime member of the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders who she stood in honor with for funerals at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  She also applied her innumerable skills and talent to the support of organizations researching, treating, supporting and educating others about Leiomyosarcoma.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Brown of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her father, Robert Mallin of Littleton, Colorado; sister, Allison Stern of Plainview, New York; other siblings; several aunts and uncles; and many friends.  Although she never had children of her own, there are many children and grandchildren whom she loved very much and considered as her own.  She was preceded in her passing by her mother, Hedy, in 2007.
