Former Michigan resident, Mike Mueller, died peacefully on November 24, 2014, at Hospice of Denver with his family by his side. He made Colorado his home since the early 70s; but he was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 1, 1952 to Elsie Mae Lehman Mueller and Lawrence August Mueller; the youngest of 8 children. Mike graduated from Bishop Gallagher High School, in Harper Woods, Michigan in 1970 where he excelled in academics, athletics, and was active in many clubs. He was an avid outdoors-man who enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, gardening, socializing at the dog park, and hiking. Mike was a kind, gentle, and understanding man who became a friend and supporter to everyone he met. Mike owned a painting and construction business for many years, where he colored the state of Colorado as bright, vivid, & beautiful as his larger than life personality; retiring in 2008. Mike is survived not only by his loving wife of 34 years Marti, his children Rachel and Sam; as well as his brothers & sisters; Robert, Jerry, Clara, Raymond, Mary, Jeanie, John, & dozens of beloved nieces & nephews. As an avid animal lover; he's also survived by his canine companion Tug, feline companion Butters, & Guinea Pig Bella. Donations may be made in his memory to The Elephant Sanctuary, P.O. Box 393, Hohenwald, TN 38462; of which he was an avid & active supporter on behalf of himself and his daughter Rachel. A celebration of his life via funeral service will be held December 7th, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Chapel at the address listed above; near his home of 32 years in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
