Mary Wells

Mary Ellen Wells passed away on Saturday May 1, 2021 at Assure Assisted Living in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born at home to Dessie and Orlo Wells on October 9, 1933. Mary Ellen graduated from Arcadia Local High School and began her Secretarial career at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio.

Her love of the mountains soon took her to Colorado where she later retired from Marathon Oil of Denver.

Mary Ellen spent many days in her youth helping her parents with their dairy business delivering milk bottles from door to door. She enjoyed travelling, golfing, walking, theater, gardening, and most anything outdoors. She loved animals—especially her beloved dogs. Mary Ellen was a news buff and loved talking world events.

Left to cherish her memory is her longtime friend Sandy Love, sister Peggy Fleegle, niece Carol (Tina Reese) Fleegle, nephews Steve (Sheri) Fleegle, Chris (Sally) Fleegle, and Jon (Melinda) Fleegle, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at Horan & McConaty 5303 E County Line Road at 2:00pm.

The world lost a truly wonderful lady. She will never be far from our hearts.
