Mary Lydia (Lampi) Floyd, formerly of Duxbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

She is survived by her husband Aretas; her four children Christopher Floyd, Daniel Floyd, Timothy Floyd, and Rebecca Bollinger; eight grandchildren; and her sister Julianne Lampi. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Toivo and Helen Lampi; and her brother, Thomas Lampi.

Mary was born in Boston on September 13, 1947, and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1965, where she was a member of the varsity field hockey team. She graduated from Sacred Heart College in Cullman, Alabama and was an active member of the Women’s Sports Association and the Dorm Council.

After graduating in 1967, Mary relocated back to Massachusetts and met her future husband at The John Hancock. Mary and Aretas were married May 24, 1969 and remained happily married for 53 years.

During her time in Duxbury, Mary worked in the Duxbury Public school system as an administrator. She also enjoyed spending time at Duxbury Beach and working polling stations during elections.

A memorial service will be held on July 30th at 4pm in Arvada, Colorado. If you are unable to attend services in-person, please click here to join the service virtually. Donations, in her memory, can be made to a favorite charity.
