Mary Knapp

Mary C. Knapp passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, from dementia at the age of 95. Mary was born December 23, 1927, to Mary V. and William J. Ross in Midwest, Wyoming. She was the middle child of five siblings.

Mary grew up in Riverton, Wyoming where she attended Riverton High School and graduated in 1945. After graduation she met Robert Knapp, and they married on September 10, 1947. They were blessed to be married for over 45 years until his passing in 1993. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Denver, Colorado where they would raise their family.

Mary was employed by the phone company early and worked for many years before retiring from AT&T in 1998. After a well-earned retirement she gave her time volunteering with Centura Health at St. Anthony North Hospital.

Mary and Bob were active members of the Northglenn Elks and she was a dedicated member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish in Northglenn. She was an avid bowler and served for a time as secretary for her bowling league. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and rooting for her favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos.

Mary was the beloved matriarch of her family. She was always there when anyone needed her and she loved spending time with all her grandchildren, who kept her on her toes and kept her laughing.

Mary is survived by her children; Kevin L. Knapp, Duane A. Knapp, Maureen A. Martin, and Joseph P. Knapp, Four grandchildren; Tessa M. Sanders (Matt), Nicholas R. Knapp (Aurora), Michelle C. Knapp, and Kristopher R. Martin, Eleven great grandchildren; Tyler Lashmet (Diamela), Caleb Lashmet, Addison Lashmet, Ava Lashmet, Nicholas R. Knapp Jr., Lucas J. Knapp, Alexandria R. Knapp, Raven S. Knapp, Tasia Z. Marquez, Connor L. Martin, and Jackson T. Martin, Four great-great grandchildren: Layla C. Knapp, Alaiya N. Cabrea, Jacob J. Lashmet and Brisa I. Lashmet.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Dennis and her four siblings.
