Marvina De Herrera

January 28, 1947 — February 2, 2021

Marvina De Herrera passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 surrounded by love from her family. She was born January 28, 1947, to Bruce and Erma Sams.

Marvina was preceeded in death by her husband, Dave De Herrera, and survived by their daughters, Debbi Webster (Mike), Tonia Gebers (Tim), grandchildren, Thomas Webster, Lucas Webster, Chelsea Hawkins (Tyler) and Allie Johnson. She is also survived by her two sisters Darius Sams and Hope Bishop (Ken).

Marvina was a successful bookkeeper for many years. She and Dave sold their home in 1993 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to manage their own business (Mission Village Mobile Home Park). They sold their business in 2007 to retire in Maui, Hawaii and live close to their daughter and granddaughters. She was married to Dave for 54 years and they loved to travel to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and many road trips across the United States. She taught her daughters many valuable lessons while they were growing up including how to manage finances and be overwhelmingly organized. She would be pleased to know she passed away with an 820 Credit Score!

She mourned Dave’s death for many years and it took a toll on her own health. The last few weeks were the most difficult as she struggled in the hospital with COPD and COVID, and her daughters and grandchildren were not able to see her. At the very end, the hospital did allow family to be present as she passed away to be with Dave for eternity.

Mom we will miss every day but know you are in a happy place surrounded by those who have passed before you. We love you Mom and Grandma Marvina!

A celebration of life will be held later this year for both Marvina and Dave.
