Marilyn Kelloff

August 9, 1935 — January 6, 2021

Marilyn G. Kelloff, 85 was born August 9, 1935 in Alamosa, Colorado, the daughter of Mabel and Dewey Gilmore. She died from complications of COVID-19 on January 6, 2021 at Lincoln Meadows Senior Living in Parker, Colorado under the gentle care of Bristol Hospice.

Marilyn attended school in Alamosa, graduating from Alamosa High School in 1954 and then attended Barnes Business College and Denver University for a time. During that time, a mutual friend introduced her to the love of her life, Richard Kelloff. They were married on December 27, 1956 and lived in Alexandria, VA (Fort Belvoir), Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Los Angeles, CA before returning to the Denver area and ultimately settling in Alamosa, Colorado. In Alamosa, Richard opened his CPA firm and Marilyn became a homemaker and helped with his bookkeeping as needed. The two of them enjoyed Friday evenings with friends at the Alamosa Elks Lodge, were members of the Jaycees and Jaycettes, and active supporters of Adams State.

Richard passed away in 1984 and Marilyn went on to build a life without him. Wanting to be closer to her children she moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado where she became active in the Gleneagles Village community. She was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed playing bridge, reading mysteries and watching the Denver Broncos. In the summer she swam in the community pool and went for walks around her neighborhood.

Declining health required Marilyn to move to an assisted living facility in 2019.

Marilyn is survived by 3 daughters, Debbie (Tony) Thomas of Marana, AZ; Michelle (Tim) Kelloff of Highlands Ranch, CO; Cheri Larson of Albuquerque, NM; 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Patricia A. Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a contribution be sent to Food Bank of the Rockies in memory of Marilyn.
