Malcolm Castellaw

June 10, 1948 — November 15, 2021

Malcolm Dwayne Castellaw “Cass” passed away on the morning of November 15th from ALS. He passed peacefully in his home, where his family had cared for him throughout the course of his illness. It was a beautiful morning with a crystal-clear view of the mountains that he loved. Cass lived a long, varied, and adventurous life that took him to every corner of America and much of the wider world. He is survived by his wife, Laura, their sons James and Chris Castellaw, daughter-in-law Melody Keown, daughter Wendy Geno, and son Rick Hukill. He is also survived by his siblings in Tennessee, Ann Reid and James and Don Castellaw, and their spouses, as well as a group of rowdy “out-laws”. He has 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Cass volunteered for the United States Army after graduating from Kingsbury High School, going on to serve six years and two combat tours in Vietnam. He was active in scouting and served as a Cub Master for 12 years, he made over 300 skydives, and he loved to ski and enjoyed camping and fishing. He retired from the City of Commerce City as the Tax Manager in 2016 after 28 years of service.

He was a good man with a big heart and he will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 21st at Horan & McConaty at 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80003.
