Lucas Winner

August 11, 2004 — February 26, 2021

Lucas Michael Winner, age 16 (born on August 11, 2004 in Albuquerque, New Mexico), passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his hometown of Littleton, Colorado on February 26, 2021. He was a junior at Highlands Ranch High School. He had just started his first job in December at Walmart. He played ice hockey for two seasons with the Arapahoe Warriors. He was an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche, and of hockey in general. He had planned to begin training to become a referee in the summer. He also volunteered as an assistant to the coaches for his younger brother Folken’s hockey team.

Lucas loved working with children. He was kind, helpful, caring, conscientious, and he loved his family and friends deeply. He was a loyal friend, dutiful and loving son, and a wonderful role model for his brothers.

He is survived by his family in Littleton - father, David R. Winner, jr., step-mother Emily, half-brother Folken - and by his mother’s large extended family in Albuquerque, NM, including his two older brothers, Benjamin and Matthew, and his younger half-brothers Johnny and Marcus.

A service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home on County Line Road in Centennial, CO. There will be a viewing before the service, beginning at 3 p.m. Flowers can be sent to this location.
