Kenneth Gopsill Jr.

July 28, 1931 — May 14, 2023

Kenneth Monroe Gopsill Jr., born on July 28, 1931, in Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on May 14, 2023, in Centennial, Colorado.

Ken was a graduate of Asbury Park High School, Asbury Park, New Jersey and Monmouth College, West Long Branch, New Jersey.  A dedicated member of the United States Air Force, Ken served his country with distinction for 24 years, retiring with the rank of Major in 1975. During his time in the military, he flew the B-58 Hustler as a Defense Systems Operator, serving his country with honor and pride. He was a Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran, Cold War Warrior and earned the Air Medal with oak leaf cluster, a true American hero.

Ken is survived by his wife of 62 years, Aleksandra Gopsill, who was the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their daughter, Adrianna Henderson, and her spouse, Dale Henderson; their son, Eric Gopsill, and his spouse, Kelli Gopsill; and their son, Karl Gopsill, and his spouse, Kim Gopsill. Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly, and he will be deeply missed. Kenneth's legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Katherine McCartney and spouse Angelo McCartney, Morgan Gopsill, Mollie Gopsill, Luke Gopsill, and Dane Gopsill. He was a proud grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them new things, and sharing stories about his life experiences.

Ken lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.

As we say our final goodbyes to Ken, let us remember the wonderful memories we shared with him and the love he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Ken, and thank you for your service to our country and the love you gave to your family and friends.
