Jose Borunda

Even in the most meaningful of times we are reminded of the mortality of this life that has been gifted to us.

On Friday, February 26, 2021, Joe Israel Borunda passed away at his home in Aurora, CO at the age of 35.

It is with a heavy heart that we proclaim the life that was lived and lost.

Joe was born to Anna Marie Orona on November 12, 1985.

At a young age Joe was curious about technology and held a strong mechanical sense to the world.

Often, he would be found taking apart items to see how they worked. He had a creative mind and found strengths in photography and art.

Always looking to find a place in this world he often would try new ideas, showing his inventive nature.

Joe is survived by his mother, Anna Marie Orona (Anthony Short), siblings Lisa Henderson (Don Woodard), Jolene Koch (Travis Koch), Robert Stanley (Lisa Stanley), stepsiblings Cathy Orona (Ursula Georgi) and Tony Orona (Carissa Hughes), nieces Briana Stanley, Emily Stanley, Chloe Milligan and Maia Henderson, nephews Leo Koch, Baron Koch, Evan Koch, and Dillan Orona.

He is also survived by his girlfriend and partner, whom he loved dearly, Kristine Carpenter.

“This world is shrouded in darkness. Here, only a few can see their way free. These few birds escape from the net and fly away to the heavens.” (Dhammapada, 13:8)

The struggles do not define a whole person and Joe’s struggles did not define him as a whole.

He was caring and he did love, he did want family and enjoyed being around people and positive energy.

We are hurt that you have left this world but know that you are loved and will be missed.
