Jonathan Bush

February 24, 1959 — May 28, 2022

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Jonathan David Bush.  On May 28, 2022, Jonathan passed from a sudden illness.  His family and his many friends will dearly miss him.

In 1960, Arthur and Ruth Bush started construction on a home in Bow Mar and shortly after, settled there to raise their two boys, Geoffrey and Jonathan.  As a 2nd grader, Jonathan started at Colorado Academy, which turned into a lifelong relationship.  During his time at CA, he was active in sports and drama and graduated with the class of 1977.  He then enrolled at Bowdoin College and graduated in 1981.  He returned home to Denver and began a long and productive career in commercial real estate development.  He started at Coldwell Banker Commercial, followed by several years at Lowe Enterprises, during which Jonathan developed his skills in commercial development.

It was the early 1990s when Jonathan met Alice Jackson and in 1994, they were married.  After living a brief time in the Washington Park area, Jonathan returned to Bow Mar with Alice in the fall of 2000 to raise their family.

Jonathan loved his family and was a devoted father.  He was active within the Bow Mar community and the Colorado Academy community, where both his children attended school.  During that time, Jonathan served as a trustee on CA's board from 2003 to 2009.

In 2004, wanting to establish his own brand, Jonathan, along with his partner Steve Kurtz, set out and formed Littleton Capital Partners LLC.  For the next 18 years, Jonathan would pursue his vision of commercial development in Denver.  During that time, LCP Development completed 22 projects along with 2 more currently in progress in the Denver metro area with his unique approach to mixed-use and redevelopment.  Further evidence of Jonathan's creative approach to development was the number of projects completed that incorporated murals by local artists.  To date, he had commissioned over a dozen murals as part of LCP Development projects.  His Denver legacy will stand for many years to come.  We will remember Jonathan's passion for Denver and its many varied communities.

Jonathan loved Colorado and the access to the outdoors afforded by living in Denver.  Throughout his life, he spent much of his time hiking, camping, and skiing in the Colorado Rockies with his family.  He had just begun the next chapter in his life with Emie Watters in their new home.

Jonathan is survived by son Liam Bush, daughter Addie Bush, both of Denver and brother Geoffrey Bush of California.
