Jody Keller

August 19, 1954 — October 15, 2021

Jody Morris Keller was born on August 19, 1954 to William and Dorothy Keller in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  The Lord called Jody, age 67, home on October 15, 2021.

Jody graduated from Agar High School (South Dakota) in 1973, and was a member of the basketball and track teams.  He still holds a track and field record to this day!  He went on to attend the University of South Dakota at Springfield for a short time.  He married Glenda (Wiedemer) Baker in 1975, and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1977.  They welcomed their daughter, Nicole, in 1978.

Jody had an adventurous spirit, wanting to experience everything possible; camping, hiking, traveling, target shooting, concerts, riding motorcycles, and drag racing - to name a few.  He was even certified in SCUBA diving.  He was a racing enthusiast, and attended the Mile Hi Nationals annually, in awe of the cars and motorcycles going 300 mph down the quarter-mile dragstrip.  He even tried his hand at driving a NASCAR on the oval track at Pikes Peak International Raceway.  Jody treasured a good motorcycle adventure.  Sturgis, Black Hills of South Dakota, Montana, Tennessee, Idaho, Yellowstone, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Milwaukee, Moab, the list goes on and on.  The ride he was most proud of was his recent ride from Denver to Alaska, an 8,000 mile trip of a lifetime!  Whether it was a Kawasaki, Yamaha, Harley, or BMW; if it had 2 wheels, he was passionate about it.  Jody loved listening to classic rock, but you could always catch him listening to Pink Floyd.  Each summer, he looked forward to seeing Brit Floyd play at Red Rocks.

Jody worked for 37 years for King Soopers, before retiring in July 2021.  He was a certified welder for the majority of that time.  It was a job that fulfilled him, both creatively and mentally.  Though it was tough work, he loved it and wouldn’t have chosen any other profession….  Except maybe a racecar driver.

Family was extremely important to Jody.  He loved his “daddy’s little girl” immensely, and instilled his love of adrenaline in Nicole by including her in many of his adventures.  But the highlight of his life, were his 2 grandsons, Tyler and Gavin.  Jody could always be found cheering them on from the sidelines, teaching them about motorcycles and racing, and spoiling them with love and goodies.  He spent every holiday with his family, and had a very special bond with his son-in-law, Glenn; the son he never had.

Jody is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Glenn), his grandchildren, Tyler and Gavin, brothers, Rob (Jolynn) and Brad (Carol), sister, Randa (Hector), nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy, and his brother Jamie (Joyce).

A life well-lived, Jody is off to his next adventure; riding motorcycles amongst the angels.
