Jean Wolfe

Jean Doris Wolfe, age 91, died peacefully on Wednesday June 29th after a brief illness.

Born in New London, Connecticut on Nov 8, 1930 to Donald C. Browne and Thyra Karlstrom Browne.  After receiving her teaching degree from Willimantic State Teachers College she taught in Connecticut for 4 years before moving to Denver in 1956. She continued teaching 3rd and 5th grades for Denver Public Schools before marrying local restaurateur Pierre Wolfe (deceased) in 1960.  Jean was an avid Life Master bridge player, Native American art collector, world traveler and cookbook author – Stupidly Simple and Timeless Recipes.  Jean was a passionate life-long student and donated her time generously as a volunteer to the Denver Art Museum, The Museum of Nature and Science, and the Denver Zoo where she continued her enthusiasm for learning and teaching.

Jean is survived by Karen Wolfe Herrmann (Paul N Herrmann – deceased) and Ronald Pierre Wolfe (Ashley Wolfe), and grandchildren Christopher Wolfe Herrmann, Thyra Jean Herrmann, Lily Helen Herrmann, Devon Delaney Wolfe and Quentin Pierre Wolfe.

Services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday July 6, 2022 at the First Unitarian Church, 1400 Lafayette Street, Denver 80218.  Relatives and friends are welcome.  Street parking is available.
