James (Paul) Jacobs, 82, died at home peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2020, after a lingering illness. He was born in Montana on December 3, 1937, to Gertrude and Philip Jacobs. As a young man, he lived in Motley, Minnesota, where he graduated from Motley High School in 1955. He married Elaine Sernsen on May 28, 1960; they were married for 60 years. Paul enjoyed telling entertaining stories to family and friends and teasing the young kids to make them laugh. He will be remembered for those amusing qualities.

Surviving in addition to Elaine are his three daughters Teresa (Pat) Sheehan, Diane Gonyer and Monica (Ray) White and his son, Jim Jacobs; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Elbert) Maldonado, Jason (Carlee) White, Sandra (Christian) Nelson, Jessica (Eric) Gustafson, JJ Jacobs, Amie Jacobs, Jamie Gonyer and Anne-Marie Jacobs; eight great grandchildren, Kaiden Gustafson, Vincent Maldonado, Tahlia Gustafson, Adaline Nelson, Everett Gustafson, Landon Nelson, Bennett White and Azelie Gustafson; two brothers, John (Jack) (Josephine) Jacobs and Steve (Sue) Jacobs; and seven nieces and nephews.
