James Maumenee Jr.

James “Cliff”  Radcliff Maumenee, Jr, age 72, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 in Centennial, Colorado of Alzheimer's Disease.

Born August 15, 1948 in Mobile, Alabama.  Cliff lived in many cities to include: Mobile and Gulf Shores, Alabama, Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and Denver, Colorado.  He served 23 years in the U.S. Army, and retired in 1992 as Major in the Signal Corps.  He completed tours in Japan, Vietnam, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, and two tours in West Germany.  Upon his retirement from active duty, Cliff served for 20 years with the Colorado Department of Veterans Affairs, helping veterans throughout Colorado file for benefits and jobs.  Cliff was a member of the Church of the Risen Christ, and also an active member of the Military Officers Association of America’s, and the American Legion.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jean Elaine (Brookover) Maumenee, and his children to include John Hamilton and wife Natalie, Dianne Vaughn and husband Michael, Kelly Maumenee, Jenny Hamilton, Evangeline Maumenee, Megan Kabil and husband Tarik, and Lulie Maumenee DiMauro and husband Jason.  Grandchildren include: Tyler, James, Norma Jean,and Anna Hamilton; Jack and Leila Kabil; Caitlin and Natalie Maumenee, Andrew and Quinn DiMauro and Nathaniel Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard in Denver, Colorado, on Friday September 18, 2020 at 11:00am to celebrate the life and legacy of Cliff.   Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service. Burial is to be determined.
