Henry Martinez

April 3, 1949 — January 5, 2022

Henry Martinez was born to the late Henrietta and Steven Martinez on April 3, 1949 in Greeley, Colorado. He passed on January 5, 2022 in Aurora, Colorado.

He is pre-deceased by his wife, Nelli Cruz, his siblings Berline Duran, Kay Martinez and Mattie Trujillo. He has left behind his fur-kids Samson, Moses and Paloma; his siblings Shirley Fresquez, Becky Lopez, Steven Martinez, Beverly Cortez, George Martinez, NeNe Martinez, Peggy Martinez and Danny Martinez.

Henry was drafted into the U.S. Army at the age of 22. He served in Vietnam with honor. When he returned from the Army he immediately began working for the United States Postal Service. He worked dutifully at USPS for nearly 33 years and impressively retired at the age of 55!

Henry had many passions and talents but none so great as his love for classic cars. Henry was a “lucky duck.” He often won prizes for contests, or at cards, or lottery tickets. He was creative and artistic and a master of holiday decorating. Henry loved and cared deeply for his family and numerous friends.

He was the originator of the Nifty Fifties Car Club and a member of the National Nomad Club. Henry won Best in Show several times for his beautiful 1957 Nomad.

Henry left behind his three adorable Chihuahuas Moses, Samson, and Paloma. The “kids” as he referred to them were his whole heart.

Henry’s beloved Chihuahua’s are being graciously cared for by an organization called Until They’re Home. If you are inclined to do so, please consider making a contribution in Henry’s honor to https://untilhome.dog/donate
