Harold "Red" Janusch

July 12, 1936 — September 14, 2020

Littleton, Colorado

Harold "Red" Henry Janusch, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020 with the love of his life by his side.

Red was born in Wadena, Minnesota to Raymond and Luella Janusch on July 12, 1936. After graduating from Coeur D'Alene High School in 1954, he married Mariam Jorgenson and they were happily married for 62 years. He served in Korea during the Korean War and worked as a salesman for a food broker upon his honorable discharge. He also was a member of Jaycee's at that time and served as President in both Spokane and Coeur D'Alene. Red loved his family, fishing, wood-working (especially making toys for his grandkids), collecting belt buckles, the outdoors and his morning walks.

Many knew Red as an incredibly talented craftsman, a helper to anyone, a good friend, a hard worker and a man who never ran out of jokes or sat still for too long. Red had an adventurous spirit and was always quick to include others on his fishing trips, point out wildlife and take his kids, grandkids and great grandkids on quad rides. His grandchildren describe him as loving, humble, encouraging, charismatic and light-hearted. His ability to stay positive even in the face of challenges will be remembered and continue to leave a legacy for years to come.

Red is survived by his wife, Mariam; siblings, Larry Janusch and LeeAnn (Rich) Powell; children, Barry (Arlene) Janusch and Shari (Paul) McCallister; grandchildren, Lani (Jake) Newell, Nick McCallister, Natalie (Trevor) Depree, Max (Allison) Janusch, Eli (Isabelle) Janusch, Andrew McCallister; and great grandchildren, Clark, Clive & Rosalee Newell and Noah Janusch.

Red's big smile, strong hugs and big, booming voice will be missed by everyone who knew him.
