Gordon Diesing

d. March 7, 2023

Littleton, Colorado

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gordon M. Diesing, went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.  He was surrounded by family and friends.  Gordon was a quiet, humble and kind man that touched the lives of anyone he met.  “One of the good guys”

Born July 20, 1944, to Maro Watson Todd and Paul Diesing in South Amboy, New Jersey.  He was mainly raised by his grandparents in Holland Township, Milford, New Jersey.  “Mom and Pop Watson” inspired him to be the man he was today.

Gordon went to Holland Elementary and Delaware Valley Regional High School.  He met his wife of 57 years at DVR, Patsy Christie.

He entered the Army National Guard in 1965 and was honorably discharged in July 1973.  Staff Sargent Diesing shot for the New Jersey State Pistol Team representing the Army National Guard.  The team received many awards.

Gordon married his high school sweetheart on May 7, 1966.  They had three sons – Michael Todd, Patrick Gordon (Frances Becker) and Christopher John.  Their beloved son Christopher John passed away December 6, 2013.  He has two grandkids – Dayne John and Kaitlin Morgan, who loved their PopPop and three step-grandkids – Jake Allan, Alexis Michelle and Koy Daniel Kubasta.

Growing up in farm country, he had a great love of the outdoors.  His past-time was Boy Scouts, hunting, fishing, ice skating, swimming and working for the local farmers.  His friend Karl Zeller from the farm area lives in Colorado also.  He attended many church camps with a love of the Bible.

Enjoying the outdoors influenced the family decision to go to Colorful Colorado.  After seeing the movie Jeremiah Johnson, he was convinced.  They have lived in Littleton, Colorado for 50 years.

In New Jersey, Gordon received his millwright apprenticeship at Riegel Paper Corporation in 1970.  He also worked for Thomas J Lipton, the Milford Borough part-time and was a volunteer fireman.

His new employment started upon our move to Colorado in July, 1973.  He went to work for John Manville which originated in Manville, New Jersey.  He was the Facilities Engineer upon his departure after 20 years.  The next chapters in his work career brought him to Coors, Ralph Schomp and Hakushika Sake.  He retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Stationary Engineer after 18 years.

Gordon’s involvement in the community was Columbine Sports, Columbine High School, Littleton Elks, American Legion and was knighted in the St. Frances Knights of Columbus.  These organizations have surrounded the family with friendship and love.

Gordon and Patricia loved to travel during their marriage.  His favorite place to go was Cabo San Lucas where he made many friends over the years.  He continued his passion for golfing, hunting, fishing, sporting and social events.

His love of faith, family and friends blessed his life.
