Glenn Masters

July 10, 1923 — August 13, 2022

Glenn Harold Masters, 99, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August,
13, 2022 at Balfour Senior Living.

Glenn Masters was born on July 10, 1923 to Clyde C. and Eva M. Masters, the youngest of six
children, in North Platte, Nebraska. After graduating from Garden County High School in 1940,
he worked on the family farm until joining the Army Air Corp in 1944.

In the summer of 1943 he met Dorothy Herman at the Bridgeport, Nebraska 1st Baptist Church,
and they were married on August 23, 1946, after Glenn returned from serving in World War II.
Glenn and Dorothy went on to have five children, eight grandchildren, and eleven greatgrandchildren.
After their wedding, Glenn and Dorothy moved to Phoenix, Arizona to attend the Arizona Bible
Institute. In 1948 he enrolled at Arizona Teachers College and after two years transferred to the
University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he received a bachelor’s degree in January 1952. After
graduation he taught high school Vocational Agriculture in Nehawka and Chadron, Nebraska. In
1959 with a wife and four children they moved back to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend graduate
school, and in 1961 he received a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics. After graduation
he moved his family to Grand Island, Nebraska where his fifth child was born and he began his
twenty-two year career with the Bureau of Reclamation. Between 1961 and 1983 when he
retired from the Bureau of Reclamation, the family was transferred three times living in
Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, and Lakewood, Colorado.

Glenn’s thirty-nine years of retirement were not spent idly. He combined his talent for teaching
with his skill in economics and began a fruitful ministry of teaching individuals and families how
to biblically steward their finances. Throughout his life he was active in church. He shared his
musical talents in both choirs and quartets, and served on various governing boards and finance
committees.

Glenn loved traveling and planning trips with his family. His children have many fond memories
of the annual family road trip vacations. This is a practice he and Dorothy continued in
retirement. Making many cross country and even international trips to visit family and friends.
Glenn is survived by children: Edward (Carol) Masters, Temecula, California; Steven (Jeannette)
Masters, Falcon, Colorado; Thomas (Teri) Masters, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Nancy Maynard
(Jim Maynard), Tallmadge, Ohio. Eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding
